Santa Cruz, California native Eric Roush has been skimming madly and making wooden skimboards since grade school in the 1980s. In early high school, he created his first "foam skimboard" company and began hosting competitive teams. Throughout the 1990s he built hundreds of sophisticated vinyl ester vacuum molded custom boards alongside master builder Pete Rodgers. In 2002 he began developing boards for Riptide.
Roush has built boards with racing yacht foam cores, signature grab-rail stringers, the "living tendon" rail stringer system, exotic shapes, astonishing hand drawn artwork, texture decks, and many other never before seen inventions. Throughout his work, Roush has developed and used the significant concave bottom contours that have transformed the face of skimboards as the world has known them. Highly advanced technical execution, daring imagination, and commitment to design are the hallmarks of Roush's work. Roush currently leads the cutting edge in skimboards, surfboards, and a newfound multitude of mind-blowing hybrids between the two.
